Provide systems engineering support coordinating system changes, software updates, and integration with the hardware baseline. Primary responsibilities include configuration management by coordinating engineering activities to transition the organization to a Utility Cloud (UC) environment, and include partnering with supporting organizations.  The Systems Engineer (SE) will assist in the architecture development, SE planning, process engineering, and dependency/interface planning for the UC deployment efforts. The SE will oversee the integration of the hardware/software architecture, processes, and plans for the implementation of a functional UC, providing IaaS. Perform SE services to include process development, integration and test (I&T), architecture, interface identification, and risk management.  The SE may assist with the integration of multiple hypervisors (e.g. VMware and OpenStack/KVM), provisioning capabilities, and user interfaces with the infrastructure. The SE will support systems engineering services to include operating systems, network, and VDI activities to enable the deployment, operation, and maintenance of user-facing services and associated development environments
 
Individual Capabilities Required:
  • Configuration Management experience.
  • Experience with scheduling and coordination. Successful candidates will be detail oriented and exhibit strong organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to comfortably interact with all levels of organization management while operating in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
Individual Capabilities Desired:
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.
  • Demonstrated systems engineering experience, particularly in the areas of VDI deployments
