SecureTech Data Scientists make a difference every day in support of some of the nation's critical missions by using Mathematical, Computational, Statistical foundations to devise strategies for revealing meaning and value from large data sets. Using analytic modeling, statistical analysis, programming, and/or another appropriate scientific methods, we develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing, exploring, and assessing large datasets in various states of origination, cleanliness, and structure. We work every day to use data analytics and data science to further mission success!
Data Scientists can expect to:
While entry level requires a BS degree and only one (1) year of experience (Or a HS diploma plus 5 years) - the highest level requires the BS degree plus fourteen (14) years of experience (or a HS diploma plus eighteen years). And we need everything in between!

Data Scientists can expect to:
- Analyze and define data requirements and specifications.
- Analyze data to discover trends and patterns.
- Analyze data sources to provide actionable recommendations.
- Assess the validity of source data and subsequent findings.
- Collect metrics and trending data.
- Present findings using data visualization techniques.
- Develop data standards, policies, and procedures.
- Provide actionable recommendations to critical stakeholders based on data analysis and findings.
- Devise strategies for extracting meaning and value from large datasets.
- Make and communicate principled conclusions from data using elements of mathematics, statistics, computer science, and application specific knowledge.
- Through analytic modeling, statistical analysis, programming, and/or another appropriate scientific method, develop and implement qualitative and quantitative methods for characterizing, exploring, and assessing large datasets in various states of organization, cleanliness, and structure.
- Translate practical mission needs and analytic questions related to large datasets into technical requirements and, conversely, assist others with drawing appropriate conclusions from the analysis of such data.
- Make informed recommendations regarding competing technical solutions by maintaining awareness of the constantly-shifting state of current data collection, processing, storage and analytic capabilities and limitations.
